Job Description: Atreides Mission Engineer 

 

Location: Europe , 75% Travel 

Role Type: Full-time, Permanent   

Security Clearance: A current and active Developed Vetting (DV) clearance is essential for this role.

Travel might be required depending on client requirements.

Position Overview: We are seeking a Mission Engineer with strong experience in operational deployments, systems integration, and hands-on technical support to enable mission-critical capabilities in the field. You will play a key role in deploying, maintaining, and optimizing advanced technologies in challenging and dynamic environments. This role requires adaptability, technical depth, and a problem-solving mindset to ensure operational success in-theatre. 

 

This is a unique opportunity to directly support mission-driven operations while collaborating with global multidisciplinary teams in support of national security programs.

Responsibilities 

  • Deploy, configure, and sustain mission-critical systems in the field. 
  • Integrate novel technologies (e.g., geospatial platforms, secure communications, mobile systems) into operational environments. 
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide real-time support during deployments. 
  • Conduct pre-deployment readiness checks, system validation, and acceptance testing. 
  • Support and enforce secure endpoint and mobile device policies in austere environments. 
  • Collaborate with host nation partners, stakeholders, and third-party vendors to ensure successful mission integration. 
  • Document engineering processes, configurations, and lessons learned for knowledge transfer and audit readiness. 
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and subsequently a brand Ambassador for Atreides 1st Party Applications, Advanced Data Solutions, Analysts, and  OpTech services in the field.  
  • Start with the business outcome end in mind. Meaning provide world-class field support that leads to growing future support contracts and usage of Atreides services.  

 

Required Expertise 

  • Hands-on experience in field engineering, systems integration, or technology deployments. 
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across hardware, software, and networking. 
  • Familiarity with secure communications, VPNs, and endpoint management solutions. 
  • Experience with containerized platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and modern deployment toolchains. 
  • Proficiency with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Go preferred). 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Prior experience supporting defence, intelligence, or government programs preferred. 

 

Desired Qualifications 

  • Relevant certifications in networking, systems administration, or cloud environments (e.g., CCNA, Azure). 
  • Experience operating in classified or secure environments. 
  • Familiarity with mobile device management platforms and field security protocols. 
  • Exposure to geospatial data systems or mission planning tools.
